RigNet, Inc. Names Chris Carter Director of Information Technology

HOUSTON, TX - April 6, 2011 - RigNet, Inc. (NASDAQ: RNET), a leading independent provider of remote communications and collaborative applications to the global oil and gas industry, has named Chris Carter to the position of director of global IT, announced Marty Jimmerson, RigNet's chief financial officer.

Based at RigNet's Houston headquarters, Carter will focus on developing strategy and vision for mission-critical business and operational support systems.  Carter has 16 years experience in various industries, including oil and gas and telecommunications.  He most recently served as director of global IT for CapRock Communications, an international satellite communications service provider.  He also served as manager and director of IT applications at CapRock.  Prior to CapRock, Carter served as director of e-commerce and business intelligence for National Oilwell Varco, a worldwide leader in providing major mechanical components for land and offshore drilling rigs.  He has a B.A. in Computer Systems from Washburn University and a J.D. with technology law focus from the University Of Kansas School Of Law.
