RigNet Elects Ørjan Svanevik to Board of Directors

Houston, TX, March 2, 2010 - RigNet, Inc., a leading global provider of managed communications solutions for the upstream oil and gas industry, recently announced that its shareholders have elected Ørjan Svanevik to the Board of Directors.

Svanevik represents Cubera Private Equity AS, an independent and fully partner-owned Nordic fund advisor dedicated to private equity.  Prior to Cubera, Svanevik worked as head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Aker ASA, a listed Norwegian oilfield services company.  Svanevik has also worked as COO at Kværner ASA, head of Business Development at Aker Solutions, strategy director at Arkwright and controller at Schlumberger.

Throughout his career Svanevik has been involved in several IPO's, mergers, acquisitions and trade sales, as well as the operational integration and development of oilfield services companies.  Outside of RigNet, Svanevik serves as a director of SPT Group, Bjorgvin AS, Norse Cutting & Abandonment, and Oavik Capital.

Svanevik holds a master's degree in General Economics from The Norwegian School of Management (BI) and an MBA from Thunderbird.
