RigNet Names New Head of Strategic Business Development

HOUSTON, TX - RigNet, Inc., a leading global provider of managed communications solutions for the upstream oil and gas industry, announced today the appointment of Richard Norton to the newly-created position of Manager - Strategic Business Development, which will be focused on extending the Company's drilling rig communications and collaborative applications to new geographic markets.

Reporting directly to Mark Slaughter, CEO and President, Mr. Norton will be pursuing longer range business development projects, particularly in attractive overseas markets where RigNet is underpenetrated or has no presence. Mr. Norton comes to RigNet with over twenty (20) years of telecommunications experience, including AT&T, DBS Microwave and the U.S. Navy. He holds a B.A. degree in Mathematics from California State University.
