RigNet Hurricane Update

HOUSTON, TX - September 17, 2008 - RigNet management wants to give you a brief update on our Gulf of Mexico, and Houston, Texas region, post Hurricane Ike.

All RigNet teleports are located outside of the Gulf Coast hurricane prone areas and are therefore fully functional.  The East Coast teleport is located in Mountainside, Maryland and the West Coast teleport is located in Riverside, California. In addition, RigNet's supporting infrastructure equipment is dual-homed in two separate hardened co-location facilities in Houston. Both Verizon and CyrusOne are built to withstand hurricane force weather and offer total redundant power and telecom paths to our teleports that serve the Americas.

RigNet's Network Operations Center (NOC) is virtual and can therefore be located in any of our RigNet office locations.  The NOC was relocated to  Austin NOC during the storm to maintain business continuity.  Currently the Austin NOC has been vacated and the Houston NOC is officially back to normal (pre-storm) operations and shifts.

We have had 29 of our remote sites that evacuated, as of now, 25 sites are back online with the remainder coming online as they are re-manned.

With our two geographically dispersed teleports and our virtual infrastructure, our engineers have seamlessly assured daily operations of the network.

Further, during emergency situations we have a stock of portable satellite phones and VSAT Emergency Response Units (ERU) in reserve. Please advise your account rep or call our helpline at +1 888 974 4638, should you need a satellite phone or ERU as supplies are limited.
