DESCRIPTION: • Design, management and support of the region's network infrastructure and customer solutions, including managed offshore communications solutions and the SOIL network. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Network design and implementation, including routing and switching, voice and video, and integration with VSAT, fiber and radiolink transport. • Ensuring that the core network and remote sites runs with optimal efficiency • Working 2nd/3rd level support issues
• Pre-sales support; be a technical and commercial resource for sales and marketing, including assistance with developing bids and meetings with customers • Work with local and international telecommunication providers on infrastructure projects and support • Contribute to delivery of new projects on time, on budget and with planned quality • Follow departmental procedures, consistent with the policies and procedures developed by global engineering • Be a contributing member of the regional and global engineering teams • Must be able to work under time pressure and multi-task under these conditions • Be part of the regional 24x7 duty team on a rotational basis QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • University degree in relevant technical field • Cisco certifications is a plus • Microsoft certifications is a plus Experience: • Minimum two (2) years hands-on experience with IP networking • Experience with remote communications (VSAT, microwave), voice and video solutions preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Skills in Cisco based networks, including routing, layer 3 based switching and QoS • Knowledge of firewalls, wireless networks and MPLS is preferred • Must have the ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed team • Must have the ability to work effectively within a geographically distributed team Personal Characteristics: • Must possess an unrelenting passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence • Behave Ethically: understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that personal behavior is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization • Communicate Effectively: speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques • Organize: set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals and track details/data/information/activities • Solve Problems: assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the issues COMPENSATION: Competitive compensation package, including annual bonus potential and duty team pay.
